I think, sucked, comes to mind.
We've had the goaltending now for just about 3 years. That's one thing we could all rely on. Last year was Théodore's year and this year he's struggling to regain that form. Thank goodness Hackett is still around. If Savard is entertaining offers for Hack, then they'd have to be pretty sweet indeed. I'm wondering what happens if, when the trading deadline nears, José still hasn't found his groove.
Well, if he does or doesn't, I'd seriously look at resigning Hack to a two-year deal. Even if José refinds his form, dealing a strong goaltender under a new contract still isn't all that bad. That aside, did anyone notice Jeff's expression through the mask? I really don't think he wanted to be in there. He, like José, was getting absolutely no support whatsoever.
Defence:
Hackett seemed to be our only "defenseman" tonight.
Quintal was standing around watching on at least two of the Flyers goals tonight.
As much as I like Dykhuis, this is the second game in a row I saw an opponent walk around him.
I hate bringing Hainsey along with the team attitude like this.
Rivet still isn't using his muscle out there. On Primeau's second goal he had a glorious chance to push Keith away from the play, but went for the puck instead.
Is it me or have pucks been bouncing over Brisebois' stick for years now? When it does happen, it always seems to happen on the PP. Maybe it's just me.
Forwards:
Koivu needs another winger to complete his line. Zednik isn't playing all that bad, but the line is missing another talented, perhaps tough, winger.
Speaking of Zednik, it's the third game in a row where he's taken a high stick to the face and/or head. But, it might be largely due to the way he's been playing lately; all hustle.
For goodness sake don't break up the Juneau, Dackell, Bulis trio. They're giving an honest effort every game and the only reliable line we have right now.
Gilmour, Petrov, Audette, and Chow simply must show up for each game. I saw Gilmour taking the puck up ice a few times but can't remember him doing too much with it. Chow? Hmm....
Overall, the Habs just didn't compete on the same level as the Flyers. They were pushed around, out-hustled, etc.
I think the team is much better than we've seen. I just wish I knew what the hell was wrong with them. They're just going through the motions right now.
Cheers.
