For those of you tired of the annoying pop-up ads here within the discussion-board (and elsewhere),this little utility works like magic! Previously refered to by Roggy, I thought I'd give it a whirl for a few days and found that it's simply a gem of a program. I went ahead and added it to our server. Simply click on the link below to download. As Roggy has stated: I did not write the program, do not know the authors, I have not altered this file in any way, and make no guarantees, explicitly or implied as to the program's origins, functions or compatibilty with the end users computer. In other words, if this program crashes your machine, do not blame me. The program works for me and several other computers I use, but I cannot make any statements for yours. www.habsrus.com/puksetup1453.exeCO

Just a little addendum...
If you're a little queezy about running a program in your background to kill pop-ups (which can cause problems with certain anti-virus software packages among other things) you have a few more options:
Turn off Javascript - If you like IE (groan) or are unable to download programs onto your computer wherever you are, you can turn of Javascript by going to Tools->Internet Options and clicking on the security tab. Click on the internet icon, then click 'Custom Level' and scroll down until you see the scriptingtype, then disable all of them. This will effectively kill all of the annoying Javascript fnctions that exist in the world today - a caveat however... it will also render many sites useless thanks to the usage of Javascript on them.
Download Mozilla - A prototype, freeware Browser based on Netscape (for all those who like Netscape - this beast is essentially the same thing dressed in different clothing). Mozilla is nice an has practically all the same functions as IE. And you can turn off popups - it comes with a pop up killer installed.
Download Opera - My personal method of avoiding pop-ups, Opera is, like Mozilla, a prototype web-browser. Opera is adware, which means the menu bar contains various ads (most of which are recruiting ads for Opera development, lisence sales for Opera or links to various 'geek' humour sites). However, these adds are unobtrusive and are worth it for the myriad of Opera features (which includes Mouse Gestures - which eliminate the hassle of clicking on back, forward, new window etc.), self-contained multiple browser windows (IE and Mozilla both have new browser windows which pop up as another 'program' - Opera is all within one window which you can switch between.) and much, much faster page downloads.
Just some options. There are others (such as Lynx - an archaic, pre-Javascript webbrowser which is text based) which would also work, but these three come most highly recommended.

As I just said in an email to Spiro this is great info and thank you for it. If you have a Mac, however, these won't work. Go to www.webwasher.com/en/products/wwash/download_mac.htmI found it and have been using since this morning and my cruising around HabsRus is 3 - 4 times faster than before. A small control panel lets you know what you've stopped as well. Cheers from Vancouver - 18 degrees and sunny! ;D ;D John

CO.
I've been having a lot of trouble accessing HabsRus using Netware (slow and locks up) but it works great with IE. Anyone else experiencing the same problems and any suggestions?
