Nice job, Phil. I was fortunate enough to have made it to the game last night with KR, Dozzer, HFFM, dum di dum, Belgian, mar10, youngster, and habby. Habby actually waited until the game was 2-minutes-old before approaching a scalper for a $10 ticket. I guess they know him now. He gets into most of the home games like that.
I honestly think our specialty teams killed us last night. Firstly, we failed to score on a double-minor. Secondly, we took two penalities in the third, to two of our penalty killers no less, and the Penguins scored on both! Go figure the odds.
I thought Chow, Gilmour, and Petrov looked as if they were on another planet; they certainly weren't in the Bell Centre.
I sat right in front of a guy who shouted, "... TRADE HIM!" every time Audette touched the puck. Where is Donald these days? He tried to do too much all by himself I thought.
Rivet and Markov played very well together. Markov's confidence is growing each time out while Rivet was extremely steady.
Brisebois and Dykhuis were on the ice every time Mario was. I don't think they play all that well together actually. While Dykhuis boned the first goal, he did finish with a +1. Ditto Brisebois.
Heck, Quintal and Hainsey weren't spetacular, but did well. Hainsey did well taking the man along the boards, while Quintal wasn't noticable. Given the way he's looked in some games recently that's not a bad thing really.
That was probably the best game I had seen Bulis play in a long time. He, Juneau and Dackell did a good job against Mario also.
I noticed one player on the Penguin's bench last night that was with the club a few years back. Vladmir Vujtek was a prospect that was traded to Edmonton along with Shane Corson and Brent Gilcrest, for Vinny Damphousse. It was good to see him on the ice, though he didn't play too much.
Alexandre Daigle seems to have the support of his teammates, but not of the Montreal faithful. He was booed just about every time he touched the puck. Not too classy.
And we listened to the post-game show while leaving Montreal. Mario has worshipers in Montreal, not fans. I thought he made one good pass the whole game and that's it. Other than the game-tying goal he was kept in check pretty well.
Did you notice the bounce back in Saku's step? Lookin' good, Saku.
Cheers.

Dis thanks for the report. That's pretty much what we said last night(if you want to go surfing through the last 750 posts ;D).
Speciality teams are killing us plain and simple.
And Koivu...pray he stays healthy...because he'll have a great year.
