TSN is reporting that the habs have sent all other GMs the message that Audette is on the block.

Right now we have to many one dimensional forwards. We need to trade at least one of them.(Ribeiro is coming back soon too!) That said I would only agree to moving audette if it would net us a quality player and not just another headache.

Demers reported the same thing on RDS tonite.
Oh man...I would love to see the Habs contact the Isles and try to obtain a certain Isbister.
One of these small forwards has to go...I am just surprised Audette is the one! obviously the org sees him as a:replaceable and b: a dressing room problem.

I say we include him in a package to get a quality defenceman. Hossa can then be brought up, or even Balej.

MT on the rumor that Audi is on the block is "no coment" and "I don't know." AS said the same thing..... Audette has been,IMO, identified as the ''rat'' and is viewed as a potential cancer in the dressing room. Plus, he has 1 regular season goal since joining the Habs........ Pedneault said he wouldn't be surprised if audi is dealt this week. And like I said in another thread...we have too many RW's. One of them had to move to LW and it looks like Chow is not comfortable at all there.

It's at times like this that I wonder why MT gets all the flak for mistakes that are at least as much AS's fault, like having a lineup with too many smallish skilled players who suck defensively.

Besides, PTH, who wants damaged goods. It's not that I dislike the guy, I just don't think he's fully healed. Come to think of it, can he ever be fully recovered? It might be safe to say that some of the other GMs question this too.
I really liked his acquisition and you know yourself he was dynamite when he first arrived, but after that freakin' injury... I can only imagine what he went through in rehab. Son of a gun.
Waddya goin' to do? Cheers.

I like Audi, and there's no questioning that he's a pure goal scorer. The problem is he's not going to play on a scoring line here, or possibly with any play-off team.
He'll always look better on a young team where he gets tons of ice-time.
I doubt the return on him will be anything special...I mean Dallas only got an aging, under-achieving, free-agent to be in Rucinsky for him. A forgotten prospect, or a draft pick would be fine with me. I doubt Edmonton would have any interest in him, but Green or Horcoff would be a perfect return for Audi.
The Isles could be a good fit...or possibly back to LA now that Palffy might be out a bit.

I doubt any GM will be breaking down the door for a 30-something, expensive winger with a bad arm. Outside of the arm injury, no one AS can blame but himself. W're going to get a very poor return out of this, which will equate to giving up Rucinsky for nothing.
Wonder if he's learned anything out of the corner he's painted himself into with really poor contracts and smallish forwards. He has bigger guys available (Hossa and Hainsey), but refuses to play them. Look at other teams, playing their young guys, who are at no further a level of development than our two. Edmonton has Hemsky, Calgary Leopold, San Jose Jillson, Colorado Nedorost, etc. etc.
He's down to a C from me now, with a negative bias.

Well i don't know about that guy what if you throw in a 5th round pick as i'm still not sold he'll be that much of a force in the future Well Mr. Savard you drive a hard bargain and with all our youth we could use a veteran scorer for our top 2 lines sounds like a good deal to me.

Dream on..... Minnesota might want a guy like Audette, but they won't give up all that much for him, certainly not a youngish defenseman who might be a good fit for years to come. Audette would be to them just a filler to keep the team decent until useful players develop - ie, a short-term fix, and an expensive one at that. If we got a 4th round pick for Audette and didn't have to pick up any of his salary, I'd be happy enough. I'd be even happier if we had Heisten in the minors and Malhotra as a Kilger-like clone in our lineup - a big, physical guy who's versatile and has decent skill.

We can't even find room for Hainsey...what makes you think Mitchell would play here?

It's unfortunate because when he first got here it looked like he had come home and was going to be a real spark plug but then the damn injury. Probably won't get much in return but getting rid of Rosie is a win win. But can anyone explain to me what this reference to a cancer is all about.

Probably won't get much in return but getting rid of Rosie is a win win. But can anyone explain to me what this reference to a cancer is all about. The reference to a cancer refers a story about a HABS player who would have said during last year's playoffs, following game 4 in Carolina, that the team lost BECAUSE of Therrien. That particular player was then called "the rat" by Blanchard of LaPress who claimed that "the rat" had a bad influence on others and that his quiting on Therrien got the whole team to quit. Some posters here picked it up and claim that "the rat" is Audette.

Thanks Doc. Sounds to me like Audette was simply stating the obvious. But at this point i don't know which is worse MT's coaching or Audettes play.
