Funny how Ward has started slumping, at exactly the same time Andre Savard said he didn't think he would ever be an NHLer...

Jesus Christ what a team 15 freakin' 1 That was like Canada vs France last year in the WJC Gotta love Komi ;D PR, he said ''I doubt Ward and Gratton will be more than 4th liners in the NHL''

Which is true. I doubt Gratton will ever be more than a pest depth player/4th liner C.
Ward could become a third liner... but fourth liner should be about right.
It's not as if he said that they have no future.

It's not as if he said that they have no future. Yes, but seems to me you don't say that in public...unless the question was ''what do you think they can do in the NHL?''

It's not as if he said that they have no future. Actually, I thought that was exactly what he said. I understood that somebody asked him why he didn't call up Ward and Gratton, and he answered that they weren't good enough to be in the NHL, and would be nothing more than AHLers (paraphrasing)...

PR, he said ''I doubt Ward and Gratton will be more than 4th liners in the NHL'' But where is everyone getting this from? Was it a TV or radio interview? Also, did Savard say that he felt Ward and Gratton would not be any better than 4th liners in the NHL today, or ever? I know these kinds of statements tend to get twisted around on the net...somebody reporting something not quite accurately and then it gets worse as its passed along...so any kind of link would be extremely helpful.

Yes, but seems to me you don't say that in public...unless the question was ''what do you think they can do in the NHL?'' That's just it...you've got these two young guys who are playing their hearts out for your AHL club, and to just come out for no reason and say they have no future just seems like a foolish thing to do (if that is infact what Savard said)...

It was in the Journal de Montreal. The same article where he badmouthed Ribeiro. KILLger read it completely so he must know more about it.
