Tonight Eric Himelfarb had another 5 pt night 2-3-5. This is the 2nd time he's had a 5pt night this year, that I know of. www.ontariohockeyleague.com/stats/schedule.phpAlso Russia announced their tryout roster, and Perezhogin is there, but Korneev isn't. Although it is a 19 year olds touranment, so he should make it next year. No word from the Czech roster yet. I was wondering if they would want Plekanec to play. I don't know if they would or if Savard would release him. There's also Linhart, but I don't think he would make the team.

Good news on Himer Montreal, the WJC is for 16 to 19 year olds. Most of the players are 18-19 so Korneev can make the team next year and isn't Plekanec 20?

Oh well, looks like we will have 3 maybe 4 guys at the WJC. And yes Korneev can make the team next year, as he's 18 right now. The editors of russianinsider both told me that they thought Korneev was a lock, but guess there was a surprise.

Well I looked into it, and I make a mistake. Konstantin Korneev has in fact been selected to the camp for Team Russia's WJC team. The reason why I didn't see his name on the list, is cause he is not going as a defensemen. He has been selected to go as a center, where he played last year. I checked with the guys at russianinsider, and they said that he did get selected, and he could be switched back to defence later. To me this does say something about Savard/Madden's good drafting. Korneev was picked 275th and guys like Anton Babchuk, and 1st round Alex Semin weren't picked so much higher yet they were not selected to the camp, so they wont be in Halifax for sure. Our last 2 picks in the '02 draft Ferland 212th and Korneev 275th were both selected to play for their countries WJC camps. They might not make the team, but they don't pick you for the camp, unless they think you can make the team. Even if neither make the team, its a step in the right direction for both of them. So thanks Savard and Madden for some good picks so far.
