Bulldogs Lose Their First Game of the Season - October 20, 2002

After beginning the season on a three game winning streak, the Hamilton Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, dropping a 3-1 decison to the Grand Rapids Griffins at Copps Coliseum.
Grand Rapids had goals from three different players including Michel Picard, Mark Mowers and Sean Avery. Michael Ryder responded with the lone goal for the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs goaltender Ty Conklin made 19 saves on 22 shots in the game. Griffins goaltender Joey Moss earned the game's first star as stopped 30 of Hamilton's 31 shots.
On the power play the Bulldogs were 0 for 8, while Grand Rapids connected for one goal on five opportunities with the man advantage.
