I'm sorry but I have to do a little venting.
The federal government recently exempted the auto industry in Ontario from the Kyoto protocal. This comes after forcing the accord on the prarie provinces and the oil and natural gas industry. I wonder if this has anything to do with the 100+ Liberal MP's in Ontario?
Now you are wondering how this affects EVERY SINGLE CANADIAN? Why should we care? Just wait. Your price at the pumps and the cost of heating your homes, Everything to do with the oil and natural gas industry is going to skyrocket. The shortsitedness of the current government is going to cost us all....again.You think the cost of fuel, gas, and oil is outrageous now,"baby, you ain't seen NOTHING yet".
I know of SEVERAL multi million dollar oilfield projects that have been thrown out already costing jobs, thus hurting the economy and infastructure in my home province of Saskatchewan. It is worse in Alberta. Much worse.
But what do the feds care? This will never affect the public servants that we have voted into office. We are paying for their expense accounts anyway. It's not like the money for their fact finding trips and even their day to day commutes to work comes out of their pockets anyway.
Sorry again, this just really gets to me.

The Kyoto protocol has nothing to do with diminishing the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, it is simply a socialist plan to transfer wealth to the poorer nations of the world. Instead of carefully disguising Kyoto as a motherhood issue, (the sky is falling, the sky is falling) they should just simply take the billions of dollars that they completely piss away on a yearly basis, and direct deposit into the coffers of whichever poor country suits their fancy at the time. Example, the gun registry, sponsorship programs, the list goes on and on. All them lovely Canada signs that you see at sporting events etc. Just exactly why do the Feds have to spend that money to advertise themselves? Makes no sense. As to the auto industry well, it's just a matter of what side your bread is buttered isn't it now? I'll tell you where it is buttered. Alberta and Ontario are the only two provinces that shell out more cash in transfer payments, than they receive. By a large, large margin I might add. And yet Alberta basically has no say in how the country is run, or better yet, how it is run into the ground. Canada has some huge problems, and they will never get better with these dolts at the helm. Chretien has already cemented his legacy. He will go down in history as one of the worst things to happen to this country, ever. Just in front of Trudeau. What should happen in the next election, is the exact same thing that happened to the Tories, almost complete annihilation. But that will never happen, because after all the Liberals are the natural governing party. Puke. But of course I'm just a cold-hearted Conservative that cares about nothing other than money. Actually, what I care about is seeing a once proud country being torn apart by inept politicians. This country's political system needs a major overhaul, and the sooner the better, or it may be too late to keep it together at all.

If I start talking about Kyoto, I may have to slash my wrists.
Let China take all our manufacturing jobs away and let them pollute at whatever level they want but we have to have the boy scout mentality. WE WILL SAVE THE PLANET....................NOT.
Everything we do the Chinese and Indian goverments will undo and rthen WAY OVER.
I am fighting toothe and nail with cheap Chinese imports in the manufacturing sector and all I get from the goverment is one hand in my pocket and the other squeezing my nuts for beign stupid enough to crate jobs and technology for Canadians.
You want to see Kyoto and all it's beauty? Go over and see what the British have done with extra "carbon tax" on cars.
Politicians to me are nothing more then self serving leeches who do nothing but waste money. Now they have a whole new world of taxes to screw us with.
