We are riding a 10 years economic wave that in my opinion is about to crash on the rocks. I am involved in the manufacturing sector and companies all around me are laying off people at an alarming rate. Except for one of my (major) customer, the rest of my customers employed 5,000 people of which 2,000 have been or will be laid off. All this since Christmas.
Talk of a recession is becoming a self fulfilling prophecy as more people stop spending and more jobs are lost. A vicious circle of fear is slowly but certainly creeping in.
I don’t know for sure what is going to happen in the next six months but what I do know is that a lot of companies are scared and so are a lot of people. All I have to say is that be prepared because these are very, very uncertain times.

Timely post HA, just today radio CKAC is reporting that the Habs will lose $17-20 million. Back to the real world, my heart goes out to the many struggling entrepreneurs who had a deam, worked it hard, only to have it all come crashing down around them. Unfortunately there will be no easy fix for these fine citizens, big winners will be the banks, big business and the shrinks.
