It's official. My niece, Sara Hrehoriak will be attending the U of Manitoba next year, where she'll be played as a shooting guard for the Bisons. Her story is about half-way down the page on the following URL: www.umanitoba.ca/faculties/physed/athletics/basketball/womens/index.shtmlSara made the wise choice in taking U of Manitoba. They are currently ranked 8th in Canada and are on the rise. However, she went west because Ontario can't get it's act together with regards to scholarships. Ottawa U couldn't touch Manitoba's offer at a chance of two degrees in five years. This link shows two pictures of Sara with her new teammates. Look for Sara's name near the end of the photos. www.eteamz.com/sobc/albums/index.cfm?id=19616Can you tell the entire family if proud of her? What a gal! Cheers.

Hey, she really is cute..... she wouldn't like to come and do her Masters in Quebec City would she ?
I'd be happy to be her guide through town ;-)
Seriously, you have every reason to be proud, sounds like a great gal.

Thanks PTH She's actually going for a degree in kyniesyology (sp), which is a three-year deal. Then U of M will be giving her the chance at a second degree in teaching (two years). What's nice about it is that she is actually getting a break. She wouldn't be able to go to university normally as the money just wouldn't be there. However, now there's a chance at two degrees as I said earlier. Also, she openly admitted that it would be a waste of time going down to the US schools as the ones who scouted her don't offer what she wanted to take and that there wouldn't be any basketball after school was finished. Good decisions on her part I must say. Thanks again. Cheers.

I was hunting through here for a "Sara" post by you. If I couldn't find one, I was going to make a new post to ask you about her. This is so great!! I am so happy for Sara. Would you let her know I wish her all the best at U of Manitoba.
