I don't know guys, I'm not an expert. Has Hussein been taken out?

The recent pictures of Hussein are similar to what he looks like, but unless he's put on weight or something I honestly don't think it's him to tell you the truth. There are two pictures on this page;

I've also read that he had surgically-altered look-alikes made up to resemble him. How many depends on what source you read.

Hard to say in any case. But, if the US and Britain claim to have taken him down they wouldn't have a little less substantiation for pushing on.

Also, the bodies of nine American soldiers were found in the same hospital as rescued Pfc Lynch. They were previously listed as missing in action. They are;

• Pfc. Lori Ann Piestewa, 23, Tuba City, Arizona, 507th Maintenance Company

• Pvt. Brandon U. Sloan, 19, Cleveland, Ohio, 507th Maintenance Company

• Sgt. Donald R. Walters, 33, Kansas City, Missouri, 507th Maintenance Company

These were support specialists, not front-line troops. However, I think they were ambushed when they lost their way off of the Main Supply Route (MSR). There have been accusations of the Iraqis executing prisoners but none substantiated.

However, when Lynch was asked about the remaining POWs, she said it didn't look good for them. I'm hoping they're still alive. Fingers crossed.

The one where he goes into the crowd, IMO is not him. No way would he *risk* going out into the city of Baghdad in the middle of the day like that.

The speach he made when he talked about the farmer downing the helicopter is more than likely him IMO.

I think they also had a look-alike on TV talking from a government meeting a few weeks back, Marc. He was reading from some papers and wearing very thick glasses. Hussein is extremely vain and wears contacts in public. He dyes his hair, all that jazz.

I honestly don't think he's around to tell you the truth. Who knows, maybe they got him out.

Yes there was also a speech I think right after the war started...where ''he''(or his double) had glasses on and reading a speach...then for other speaches he is reading a text from the same distance and doesn't need his glasses. Hmmm.

I also have doubts whether he is alive or not...if he is alive..then why does it seem the only man talking for the government is that information minister who keeps spouting BS?

I wonder if his being dead would good or bad.

It's bad in that the Iraqi command might just be going on instinct from now on, not knowing what to do. Saddam might be a psycho, but offer him asylum in exchange for giving up power, and it might work out with a lot less blood spilt. It would also mean he wouldn't become a martyr.

It would good in that evil dictators shouldn't get to live long, regardless of everything else.

Well, I think if the coalition admits to the deaths of both Hussein and/or Bin Laden, they're going to lose some substantiation for carrying the fight.

Who knows, maybe by keeping the myth alive that both are still in hiding, they can continue their agendas without as much flack.

I have a gut feeling that both may not be around any longer. Hard to say though.

Bin Laden is probably dead...we haven't heard anything from him for a long time. The war in Iraq could have been a good time for him to come out of his bonker and tape something and pass it along to al Jazeera..

Yup.

There is absolutely no way Buddy Bin would hide for this long without popping up to thumb his nose at the US and incite his followers. Two scenarios emerge.

He is dead and the Americans know it but will say nothing.

He is in their hands and is spending comfortable nights with his pet mouse BooBoo deep in Cheyenne mountain.

Why make a martyr out of him when you can just make him irrelevent.

As for Saddam, at one time I read he has 7 doubles. I guess the boys over there have to play pop-up-frog with them. You know the game? You see it at carnivals. You take a hammer and try to hit the frogs that pop up from their holes. Or maybe a new version of "who shot Saddam?"

The second video where maddaS double takes a walk looks twenty pounds lighter and his body guards are non existent. No way. It’s all irrelevant because soon there will be a provisional government and he will become as intimidating as a armless bully. BTW, think of the poor fellow taking his place. Talking about stupid.
