Well not that long ago actually, the Habs always called up college grads and final season juniors to either Montreal or their AHL farm team. John Leclair comes to mind, I remember his debut with the Habs, boy did he look like a great prospect. Another one I recall is one night many years ago I had attended an AHL playoff game in Halifax between the Nova ScotiaOilers and the Sherbrooke Canadiens. A guy by the name of Mike Keane was making his pro debut that night for the baby Habs, he scored the winner in ot, wow. So i was wondering, is there anyone in the org. who may get the call this spring? I'm thinking Milroy, Himelfarb,Selig, Shasby, Archer etc here. Of course I realize that their present club must be finished playing for the season.

Milroy is injured. Broken cheekbone and Kootenay are headed to the playoffs so you can forget about him.
I have no idea about the others...

Milroy is injured. Broken cheekbone and Kootenay are headed to the playoffs so you can forget about him. With all due respect Marc, I don't know about that. Kootenay could get eliminated in the 1st round, Milroy may recover, and the Dogs could still be playing well into May. What I want to know is whether the parent clubs still do this, or has it become a contract issue with the cba or whatever?

Thanks Marc, that's right and now that my memory is recovering a tad I believe that Ribs and Chouinard also played in the AHL playoffs following their Junior season. Sorry for the confusing question

I don't see it happening...
Maybe, maybe the Habs would give a guy like Christopher Higgins a look if his club was out early and they agreed to a contract in the next few weeks; but its definitely a huge longshot.
The Habs are giving guys like Ward, Komisarek, Ribeiro and Hossa a long look right now and that's good enough for me. Too bad Hainsey was injured right now or he would surely be with the club too...

The players first have to be signed to contracts before participating in any professional level games.

So who's signed and who isn't? Well Higgins, Perezhogin, Milroy, Archer, Himelfarb, Shasby, Glenn, Selig, Tarasov, Buturlin, Korneev, Lambert, Ferland, Deveaux, Linhart, Eneqvist, Staal, Ujick, Anger, Puurula, all are not signed. Larrivee, Michaud, Jarventie, O'Dette, are all signed for next year. Milroy, Archer and Himelfarb have to be signed by June 1st or they will enter the draft. Shasby should be finished his NCAA career, as AAU should be out of the playoffs tonight. Chris Higgins could be out of the playoffs tonight as well, if his team (Yale) doesn't win. Shasby is still out with a broken foot, so I don't think he will be signed until camp. (if hopefully he is signed at all).

Yale wins 2-1! Higgins picks up 1 assist, 3rd point in 2 playoff games. He now has 41 pts in 27 games played. 27-20-21-41 1.52 ppg average. Also Matt Shasby has returned from his broken foot, as he played last night, and I think he's playing tonight. But his team was losing, and I think that would be it for them with another loss.
