It's reasonable if you look at the fact that Mark McCormack's funeral service is on Wednesday. He may have committed to the tournament three weeks ago, but it may be that he didn't know McCormack was in such a bad way. www.tsn.ca/golf/news_story.asp?id=41714However, he does also have a problem with women playing in men's tournaments. First, I don't know what the difference is between the Colonial golf tournament, and say, mixed tennis doubles. What's the big diff here? Second, it's not like Annika Sorenstam bullied her way onto a PGA tournament. I believe she was invited by the PGA to participate. If so, well, Vijay ... I don't have a problem with her playing. If she wins, heck, I'll kick the cat or something; nothing too serious. Cheers.

Who cares? This is golf we're talking about, it's not a real sport. Just some country club waste of land passtime enjoyed by rich white men. That said, nothing better than going out to the driving range and smacking a ball 200 yards. Oh yeah!
If only the caddies could give hip checks to the golfers, then I'd be real interested!

LOL RR. I had a good chuckle.
The way I figure it, Annika Sorenstam was invited by the PGA. Also, Singh's comments might have conveyed the same concerns a few of his buddies were thinking as well. I'm not saying what he said was either right or wrong, but being known as a stand-up type of guy, he said what he thought. Then everyone jumped on him.
But, she handled it very well I thought. She didn't make the cut on the second round, but it also wasn't like she was soaking this all up. She didn't invite all of the attention she got seemed pretty honest during her press conferences.
Good for her. If the PGA invites her again I don't have a problem with it. Sort of like mixed-doubles tennis I guess.
Cheers.
