why not? a just for fun kind of event....a select group of members could be selected to vote for:
User of the year
Moderator of the year
Female member of the year
Male member of the year
Rookie of the year
Most intelligent member of the year
Funniest user of the year
Thread of the year
Best avatar of the year
Best Non Habs Fan of the year
Best signature of the year
Weirdest user of the year
Most annoying user of the year
and others
..what do you all think?

While it could be a fun idea that can lead to funny stuff, chosing one poster means saying to a hundred others: this guy was better then you....
Some people are naturally competitive and I am not sure I want posters to be competing against one an other. I have seen these "award" being done at another site and in the end it brought a good load of bitterness...
Just my 2 cents.

Good twist there Viper.... *circles name for future torture*  ---Weirdest user of the year ---Most annoying user of the year Imagine the "happy go lucky" posters who gets voted for something like that? Why would he want to post here? "Gee, we think you are the vilage idiot, keep posting". Don't you think that poster would be very upset? Should we also have the "dumbest" poster of the year? What about the most typos? *sigh* We are here to have fun and exchange ideas, not to compete with each other. That is my opinion. |
