Bill Sampson finally finds himself back on Canadian soil after being imprisoned and tortured in a Saudi Arabian jail. I watched his news conference the other day where he was calling for a full public inquiry. The Liberal government and their "soft" diplomacy did absolutely nothing in trying to retrieve one of our own. Not only that, but they treated his father like crap and in no uncertain terms, told him that he was guilty for the car bombing that he was accused of. Way to stand up for one of your citizens. What a bloody joke. The man himself said that soft diplomacy doesn't work with despotic regimes such as this. They need to be put front and center onto the worlds radar when they pull this nonsense. Arar, Kazemi, Balfour, the list goes on. A word of advice. Don't be travelling into countries such as this, because if you do, you're all alone. And when it comes to soft, this country has the softest, most pathetic and corrupt government going. Stand up for your citizens damnit, whether they are innocent or guilty, no human being deserves the kind of treatment Mr. Sampson endured.
