France was supposed to be the best team in Europe.

France is one of the top teams in the world.

Fance was the odds on favorite to win it all.

But......

Someone forgot to tell the Greeks.

Yes it's a fairytale team.....but they ain't got superstar fairies and it's a hell of a determined team!

They were certainly faster than the French, and a whole lot more committed. It gets tougher from here on as the 4 teams that will be left are fighting fewer holes and chemistry issues than those who are now sunning on the beach at Nice.

I was at a local roadhouse having Friday afternoon suds with some of the guys from work. The place erupted when that goal went it. I think it had to do with the falling of the French giant.

Also, Portugal has a big following here in town. They took it to the English quite convincingly.

It's going to hard for them, but I would like my sentimental favourites, Denmark complete the final four. I have some personal, past and present, affiliations with that country.

Nice seeing a changing of the guard in European soccer.

I'm hoping Greece makes it to the final (I'm watching the extra time right now). I live in a neighbourhood with sizable Greek and Portuguese populations, so if they play in the final, there will be partying in the streets no matter who wins!
