It appears some common sense (at least half anyway) exists in Washington. Jeffrey Loria's master plan called for someone else (government) to build his pleasure palace stadium for him. The powers that be have only agreed to pay for half the stadium and, (duh), Jeffrey doesn't have any money for the rest. Does he have any bucks at all or is he just the latest in a long line of big moochers? Goin' down Jeffrey! In flames!
This is a giant nail in Loria's coffin. I sure hope he's spent everything he owns, plus a lot of Bank money to get to this point. I'd love to see some pitbull credit collectors after his butt.

I wish you were right, but Loria owns the Florida Marlins. Unfortunately, he isn't getting worked over in Washington.

Ironically, Loria is now talking about moving the Marlins out of Florida.

I wasn't really up on the extent of the Expos plight until BC filled me in about two years ago.
The Montreal Expos were the victims of a great many things one of which was a corrupt owner and league office. Without getting long-winded on you, anything that Loria and/or Selig are involved in reeks of corruption.
I'm not surprised that the Washington camp is having problems. Selig simply wanted to move the franchise out of Montreal and he's done that. You can't tell me Selig didn't know of the problems Washington was going to have. He's the commissioner and as far as I'm concerned he knew from day one that the Washington bid was flimsy, as did those lobbying to keep the team in Montreal. But, according to Selig, and of course, Loria, Montreal is not a baseball town so what could they possibly know about the business of baseball?
This whole fiasco is about getting the Expos out of Montreal. And the worse part? There isn't anyone asking any questions as to why the Washington camp is collapsing. No one is asking Selig any questions. "Player dispersal" will now replace "contraction" and with much less hype I dare say.
Sadly no one gives a hoot and Selg and Loria both know that.
Cheers.

Could they remain in the Olympic Stadium for another boring unattended year as the...
Montreal ExSenators?
