OK, I'll admit it . . . there's still snow on the ground and the threat of more to come. But that isn't stopping the blood from boiling and the urge to get our on the open road and ride (especially since the first insurance payment leaves my account next week).
So today (alone with no one to demand equal computer time) I've had the pleasure of searching the net for a bike . . . and what a wonderful sight to see them (pardon me for a moment while I wipe the drool from the keyboard).
Fellow riders -- a question, with recommendations requested: will an 800 be enough, or should I go whole hog and go 1500? I'm looking at Cruiser, not Sport; mostly for around town with an occasional highway jaunt.

I like the harley Sportster. You can get it in a 1200 or (cheaper/slower) 800 and it's more sporty than a full hog, easier to drive, faster and fun. If you don't take long trips, it'll be perfect. The 888 and 1200 weigh about the same.

Let's get it over with quickly: I like the harley Sportster. You can get it in a 1200 or (cheaper/slower) 800 and it's more sporty than a full hog, easier to drive, faster and fun. If you don't take long trips, it'll be perfect. The 888 and 1200 weigh about the same. Never, never, never will I ride a Harley! Juest a thing with me. [/i] I'm on a GSE 500 right now. A little underpowered . . . maybe small would be a better word. I'm just ready to kleave the sports bike stage. I'm tired of leaning so far over the bars and missing the world around me as I ride . . . I guess age is catching up with me. I'm torn between a "safe" 800 and something bigger. Right now I think an 8 would be enough, but I'd hate to regret not buying big enough in a couple of years.

My kids try to convince me to get a faster bike, but the truth is, a good rider on a harley would clean me and my Ninja. It's not the stick or the golf clubs that makes a Lafleur or Woods. Whatever bike you choose will be fast enough. Get something you like and is comfortable. I still like to be bent over and fool myself into thinking I'm taking the curves properly. A chaqun a son gout.

Just testdrove the Kawasaki zxR 1000 and the Suzuki GSXR 1000. Although I ride and favor Ninjas, I genuinely preferred the Gixxer. Awsome bike!

All it lacks is a refrigerator and some reading matter.

You missed the boat! A few Royal decals and you have a British Commerative, "The Prince Charles Throne and Princess Camilla Bowls."
