Hi everyone--
Let me start by saying that I love this board! Best Habs board on the net BY FAR.
I'm originally from MTL, but just moved to Toronto for work. I don't have cable at home, but still like to watch the occasional game on TV. Given the number of Habs fans in TO (and number of MTL expats here), I'm thinking that there has to be a bar that caters to Habs fans (and shows games). Do any of you guys know of any bars that fit this bill?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard, hope you post often.
Gretzky's usually plays several games through the night. A different game on each TV sorta thing.

Welcome aboard Mickeyi,
Do take a minute or 2 to check out the Code of Conduct as we run a tighter ship than most. Hope you have a pleasant stay and looking forward to read your thoughts.

My condolences on your move to a new city home . . . but welcome to a great Habs home.

Don't believe all the BS about Toronto being a horrible city. It's not. It's only too bad it's home to the Leafs. As far as bars go I hear there's a good one somewhere on Bathurst that's very Habs friendly. Hopefully someone else will know of it and post it up because I'm not sure exactly. I have RDS on my satellite so I'm set for all the games.

Welcome to Toronto,
I did the same move you are doing..... 8 years ago.
Toronto is a good city. You will just have to learn to deal with Leafs Fans. They are a special breed alright !
I moved here just when the Leafs were getting better and the Habs had already started their descent.... Not easy..
You'll learn how to deal with them. My advise, don't waste your time arguing with them, they don't listen. Too emotional and irrational. Just use a rational argument occasionally and they quiet down...for a while.
Make sure you tune in to HabsRus very often. It will help you to not go insane in Leafs Nation. I have been reading it for at least five to six years and I agree with you, it is the BEST Habs site by far. Very knowledgeable poster (some a bit cranky sometimes), very respectful, very informative and very credible.
Finally, you'll realize that before you know it, you will have two wishes.... First and foremost, you'll wish the Habs do good, and second, you'll wish the Leafs fail.... and THAT my friend, will be our best rational argument...
There ARE LOTS of us in this city.... Hopefully this year's team makes us proud in the Spring......
As for watching the games, your first paycheck should go toward getting cable TV and get RDS so you can get ALL the games.
Cheers !

Toronto is ....is.....is.....
Toronto is no Montreal. Welcome to Mordar!
AS noted by others Digital cable gets you RDS and all the habs games, rendering the hockey lacunae muchm much happier.

Welcome to the board. Yup, there is a ton of ex-Montrealers in Toronto. As for Laff fans, don't worry, just carry a can of dung beetle repellent. Use liberally.
