I remember when he died back in 89'. A very sad day for Python fans. I always wanted that song played at my funeral, I never knew they did it for Graham. Thanks for the post Rimmer!

I'm a huge fan but have trouble finding it anywhere on TV here in Ontario.
I get my fix renting the movies once in a while & have turned my kids into fans. We've seen Holy Grail together 2 or 3 times already.

I have seen the holy grail, life of brian and the meaning of life several times, but my favorites are a couple of live shows that i have on VHS/DVD, especially Live in Orange bowl. I also managed to get all episodes of the flying circus, though I can't seem to find the time to watch them again. I too hope to one day turn my kids into fans, like jkr R.

"Upper Class Twit of the Year"...it still cracks me up no matter how many times I see it. Chapman was priceless in that particular skit...

I watched the entire 3-minute clip and I remember seeing small clip of it a few years back. However, this time around I watched John Cleese's reactions as he was reading at first. Then near the end of the clip you see how somber he became as they were singing "Always look on the bright side of life..."
Ah, to have friends like this.
Brilliant!

Thanks Rimmer. I'm a Python fan (thanks to my dad) but I didn't know about Chapman's funeral.
MPFC was on either Bravo or Showcase a few years ago, once a week I think. Perhaps it still is.

Thanks a lot Rimmer. I guess I'm one of those new generation of fans who didn't see the group and their shows/movies originally however, after seeing 2 of the movies I'm hooked. In fact, I read this on CBC a while ago and would have posted it had I known there were Monty Python fans on the board. PBS brings back 'Monty Python'I watched the first half of the special on the 22nd and I'm glad I taped it. One of the rare times I watch PBS You'll probably notice at the end of the article... Monty Python's Flying Circus debuted in Britain on the BBC in 1969 and the series ran until 1974. The series began airing on CBC in Canada in 1971. PBS was the first U.S. network to pick up the show, which developed a cult following in both the U.S. and Canada. PBS plans to introduce a whole new generation to the series by airing all 47 of the old episodes beginning this spring.
