If Iran develops nuclear weapons then you can quarantee that Turkey will go nuclear. If Turkey goes nuclear you can quarantee that Greece will go nuclear and so will Syria. If Iran and Syria go nuclear the EVERY Emirat and Kingdon in the middle east will go nuclear. That is why the Europeans and Americans are trying to stop Iran. Basically, we are on a threshold of a massive, world wide expansion of nuclear weapons. With that in mind, do you think that Canada arm itslf with nuclear weapons. Not in the sense that we have any natural enemies but as a deterent. ~~~~~~~~~ By the way, here is the French policy for usage of nuclear weapons. service.spiegel.de/cache/international/0,1518,396191,00.html

However, there are Russian technicians working to get the reactor working properly and if any of them are killed in a US-endorsed, Israeli raid, then things will get very hot. As for Canada going nuclear, no, I don't think so. What's your opinion? Cheers.

What would be the point of muscling up the army with nuclear weapon? We're neighboor and ally to the strongest military force in the world. The integrity of our territory is probably a biggest concern to the US than it is for us simply because of our proximity. IMO, we do not have the demographics or economical strenght to call the shots and so the role of the Canadian Forces have (and should) rely much more in one of support to NATO and the US than it is one of trying to take whatever side route. Intelligence, secret affairs, communications, special projects should be where we target our efforts in terms of military force. And for all I know, maybe it's exactly where it is.

We don't need nuclear weapons, we already have them. The Americans have had nuclear weapons on our soil since they were invented.
Trust me on this one, I'm ex-military. Also there are nuclear submarines, planes flying overhead 24/7. We are well protected whether we like it or not.

Canada ia as nuclear as a country can get ....
We have one of the world's richest uranium deposits, we have numerous nuclear reactors, and we have US nuclear warheads on our soil.
Will we ever join the arms race? NO. Our socialist make-up won't allow it, and quite frankly there isnt a need. We should concern ourselves with strnghtening our military in other areas .... the nuclear race should be 100th on a list of 100 ways to improve canada's military.
