KIEV (Reuters) - A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.
"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.
"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."
The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.
This begs the question: no God? or no brains?

Reminds me of that old flood story, my parish priest used to tell… One day, the weather service announced a major storm was coming, and that severe flooding would result because of it. The town mayor ordered that everyone be evacuated. The evacuation bus pulled up in front of one particularly religious lady’s house, and waited for her to climb aboard.
“No thanks,” she said, “God will save me.”
The storm came, and the flood waters rose. The woman was forced to the second floor of her house. A rescue boat came roaring down the flooded street, and stopped in front of her bedroom window, imploring the woman to climb aboard.
“No thanks,” she said, “God will save me.”
The storm continued to rage, and the waters continued to rise, until the woman was forced onto the roof of her house. A helicopter swept overhead, and dropped a ladder down to the woman, and the pilot begged the woman over the loudspeaker to come aboard.
“No thanks,” she shouted up, “God will save me.”
Not surprisingly, the woman drowned. When she got to heaven, she couldn’t believe that God would let her down like that, and demanded to know why. “God,” she said, “I told everyone that you would rescue me, how come in my hour of need you didn’t do anything to save me???”
God looked at her incredulously. “What are you talking about??” He said, “I sent you a bus, a boat, a helicopter…”God may have given you the tools, but if you aren't going to use them...

KIEV (Reuters) This begs the question: no God? or no brains? Looks like there is a God, he rid us of another idiot! Sometimes, the answer to a prayer seems to be..........Huh? Blessed is he who lays down his life for his fellow......lion?!! This is a sin of ..pride. Just the other day on TV, some guy was reminding us that "Pride goeth before a maul." Bob Newhart speaking with his head between the bars: "Uh, Sir...as was looking through the book here.....if you want to be literal about it.....that would be just the lambs who are to lie down with the lions...."
