I waited for Santa to bring me something real nice like a new motorcycle, nothing special, just a lousy little Harley VRSC.....and all I got is a portable drill! I even had a bottle of my best cognac waiting by the table but NOOO, Mr. Cheapskate Santa decided that I didn't deserve it.
But alas, it gets better....
You guys think that I am a cranky old bastard but nothing can be further from the truth. Just to show you how generous and kind I can be, I got my beloved wife a nice big flat screen TV. Now she can watch the Hab's games and yell at them right along with me. ;D
Of course, she was surprised a little bit, actually she was speechless. I'm sure she was not expecting something as mundane as clothing, or some silly carbon based jewelry, or good grief, something as impractical as perfume. It's been six hours now, but I am sure when she recovers from her shock, she will thank me. ;D
So, what did you guys give and get for Christmas?

Lead us O Wise One to the ream of digital flat nirvana. You da masta! Actually, the cleverest thing I found was a self-winding, no battery radiol, flashlight. I love it.

I got mostly money .... a few shirts, an authentic Roy Williams Dallas Cowboy jersey, a Saku Koivu baseball hat, a Michael Ryder hockey puck and a glow in the dark golf ball (for when I am trying to play the last two games in the dusk. ) I gave my wife a heart-rate monitor (a top end one ... dont ask me she just wanted one), two blouses, and a jewlery box. My kids got anything and everything they wanted. I bought a few gifts, given anonymously to a family in need. One family had a 5 yr old boy (and I hope he likes hockey) I bought hockey tickets for him and hid dad and "The Hockey Song" book .... the Leafs beatthe Habs in the book ... not right, not right at all!!

I I gave my wife a heart-rate monitor (a top end one ... dont ask me she just wanted one), . What! No #51 Habs jersey. ;D She's worried about you Skilly. Probably wants to monitor your heart rate during the last 5 minutes of Habs games. My wife & I decided that the bucks we spent remodeling the bathroom was our gift to each other. That's the kind of thing that happens when you've been married for 20 years plus. My sister did come through with a real gift though - tickets to a couple of Brampton Battalion games for me & my Dad.

In the same vein, my wife and I gave each other a vacation in Central America, to be taken late next summer (we remodelled our bathroom a couple of years ago). Vacations sans children: the greatest gift of all! ;D And that is also a benefit of being married 20 years plus . . . and having children early on.
