Franko - The ad is great and had no reason being banned - except that some weenie lawyer took a look and thought about the money to be made off some sort of child abuse suit and that was that...
MC Habber - Funny stuff - I guess the thing that gets me most is how those who are "certain" of their convictions (usually religious) desperately need to force others to believe the same thing - as if their convictions give them some insight into ME and MY CONVICTIONS and somehow I come up lacking. I am more likely to accept someone else's convictions if they are NOT forced upon me. If you keep looking in you tube you will see the Banana also as the Ahteist's Nightmare - showing how a divine being (whom we cannot know but some seem to think they do) taylored the banana to be perfect for human consumption - another religious arrogance - that the world and all of creation was made for man - there is a response video to that from thesmokingnug.com where they show the "wild" banana in its original state with seeds and flat - very unlike the one we have today. Apparently early pygmie farmers were very adept at their craft and managed to cross polinate enough banana plants to eliminate the seeds -
Funniest part of that video is when the image of a pygmie tribesman is shown as the speaker is talking about how the banana is divinely made to be perfect for human consumption - clearly implying that the pygmie is our god...
Which I find more believable than much of what is offered as spirituality these days

As soon as I saw this I thought - someone is going to complain about it. I didn't know pillow fights were offensive.

I think it's funny.....but....
I can see why it was banned. Huge, strong man knocks a little kid off the bed with a pillow. He might as well have pushed him off with his hands. The instrument used doesn't matter.
Staged safety in the commercial....but in real life the child could have smacked his head on the floor, wall, corner of a dresser.

What other examples do you have of commercials that feature violence of that nature?

I say he hasn't opened the jar often enough ... it only takes one time. Keep on opening, man. Also, how do we know life isn't hiding in the peanut butter, eat it, eat it, eat it ....... AND ... peanuts are legumes, which means that peanut butter IS life. So a pregnant peanut (or pollination) is new life. .....

That's one of the things that bugs me, the idea that because you've never seen something happen, it must be impossible. It's not even stated that way, it's just implicitly assumed. Funny that these people can beleive in God without proof, but evolution is just a story because you haven't personally witnessed it.

What other examples do you have of commercials that feature violence of that nature? Well, any ad for a violent movie, but perhaps that's different. There are ads for "news" programs showing real people being shot and dead bodies. I find it bizarre that in a culture where violence is everywhere, something relatively innocent is banned.

A woman kicking a man, preferably white, in the balls is always good for a hoot.
We live in a world built on violence. So it goes. All praise to the reptilian portion of the brain.

I remember a commercial from a couple of years ago that had a short run. I think it was a car commercial....
Anyway, a woman slapped her boyfriend/husband for ogling another female.....
Gone....and I was glad to see it gone, because the first thing I said when I saw it was, "Why is that acceptable? If a man in an ad struck a woman for eyeing another dude, there'd be a lawsuit."
