I used to pull when I lived overseas but only at the lesser competative levels. As you know the Europeans really embrace their amateur sports and this is one of them. Here's some photos from the European ChampionshipsTug of war is also active in Canada as well though it's not as well advertised as the European sport is. Please see Bluewater Tug of War Club from Southern Ontario. One of the pullers on that club is the president of the Canadian Tug of War Association. We've been emailing each other about the possibility of getting TOW started here in Kingston. However, I told him that not only do we not have any training facilities, we don't even have a proper rope. Still the offer of support is excellent. He and some of his teammates are willing to make the trip to get us going. It would be a pretty extensive undertaking but it's going to take a lot of commitment and time just to get the first Kingston club off the ground. In fact, we haven't even gauged for interest at this point. A pretty good spectator sport to be sure. I know of several TOW clubs in Ontario and across Canada. If you have the time even try Googling "Toronto Highlanders Tug of War Club." Cheers.

This brings up a vast repertoire of one liners and double entendres of which I will not partake. It's tough but we have to keep a certain level of decorum here. Ooh but I'm tempted...so very tempted... Sorry Dis.
