Saw the show tonight and they talked about the Antichrist. I think the video will be out on YouTube probably in a week. This isn't the entire interview but it's still pretty deep stuff. Pastor John HageeCheers.

Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!
This guy's end-times theology is whacked on so many different levels. As the resident non-Catholic religious guy, is that enough?
Honestly, I quit reading (confession: don't like Hagee to begin with, and have been through many years of "all the signs are right" proof-texts) when he said that Islam would be the one-world religion. But I was already heading to closing the link by then.
Not going to spend a full Saturday at the computer, but I could.
Besides, we already know that HA is the man you-know-what. ;D

Oi vey ismir, the guy is mashugana!
It is one thing to be deadly concerned and argue that Iranian nuclearization will set off a domino of nuclearization it he most unstable part of the world. But this? This guy has taken it to another planet altogether. The US has flatten two countries over two towers, and Iran will launch a nuke against the US? Every living thing in Iran including the cockroaches will be obliterated BEFORE that nuke even hits US air space.
*sigh*

Ding ding ding....that should be enough of a deterrent. I'm sure he would counter: "Not if this madman is of the martyrdom mindset and wouldn't mind sacrificing himself and his people to accomplish his goals." This guy drives further right than a street sweeper. Fearmongering at its worst, twisting Biblical prophecies. He isn't the first to do it...and he won't be the last. A lot of fundamental religious orders do the same thing. If the scriptures aren't taken literally, they're interpreted/morphed to fit. And Bush and his cronies eat this stuff up. Karl Rove won the 04 election on such fervor....stirring up the "evils" of stem cell research and gay marriage during the campaign. The fundamentalists went funda-mental and the ultra-religious South bit. IMO, one thing is driving the campaign in the Middle East. Even Bill O'Relly said it. If the U.S. pulls out of Iraq, it'll mean "not going after Iran"....which means goodbye to the control of the oil.

There is always one fault with all Western thinking. We do not fully understand how someone will sacrifice everyone he loves for a "cause". That is why I have a tough time believing that Iran would "launch" anything against the US..or Britain...or France. Maybe we are wrong and will pay a truly huge price for it...but to think we are wrong would make us as paranoid as them. IMO, one thing is driving the campaign in the Middle East. Even Bill O'Relly said it. If the U.S. pulls out of Iraq, it'll mean "not going after Iran"....which means goodbye to the control of the oil. The "oil issue" separates hypocrites from realists. I know of no one who supports "we have no right to support oil politics" who have also given up their drivers license and opted to live in a tepee in northern Ontario.

If the scriptures aren't taken literally, they're interpreted/morphed to fit. An interesting comment . . . and true. "The Bible says" is used to prove just about anything and everything . . . even if it is just one verse taken out of context. How do you argue against "the Bible says" or "God says"? Biblical literalism is a hindrance to thought. And thinking is a bane to many religious leaders (Christian and otherwise) who want control -- either of minds or of money. The unfortunate thing is that the few radical voices drown out the moderate majority.

Of course, my work won't be done until I get you to step in my direction!

Besides, we already know that HA is the man you-know-what. ;D Man, the article is nothing ... you should have seen Glenn Becks' show last night ... and Beck was with him all the way ... lapping it all up. But, from what I gather this Pastor John Hagee is very influential at very high levels. We're leery of Islamic extremists ... but, man o' man, we've got our own I tells ya'. From Beck himself (paraphrase), "... this guy (pointing at the pastor) is crazy ... I remember saying stuff like this months ago ..." Cheers.
