Here is a link that tests your political leanings. I took it and was suprised to see where I stand. Must be all those voices in my head. www.politicalcompass.org/P.S. Mark down your score because you can't go back.

I'm a little left of centre but closer to authoritarian than I thought I was.

Well . . . I'm not necessarily who I thought I was!
[edit] in fact, a lot different than I thought i'd have plotted!
HA: I don't know if I should thank you or not for pointing this out.

Let's just say it was a good move for me leaving the military. I did this test a few months back on another site and it reflected the same result.
Son of a Ghandi gun.
Cheers.

I didn't end up where I thought ... but it wasn't way out of whack. -3, -3 = left wing libertarian ... shudders ...
I would have pegged me for a right wing libertarian say +3, -3 .... oh well.
The flaw in the test is it only gives four choices. I rarely Strongly Agree or Strongly Disagree with surveys like that, but when it came to a "well yes I agree, but no not in this case" type question ... I had to choose agree or disgree and I guess there is the difference. Fun test though.

Many stupid (i.e., unanswerable) questions. And some questions seriously diminish the credibility of the whole thing: "do rich pay too much taxes?". Well, if you don't take into account whether you are in Monte Carlo, France, Sweden or Canada, then your answer doesn't mean much (except if you assume that all leftist want more taxes on rich people and all rightists want less taxes; but that's a strong assumption). Still, funny to see how you compare with all these people. I landed pretty much where I though: centre-left libertarian (-1.25, -5.74).

I knew it. HA is a totalitarian. Remember HA saying he was "surprised"? That's because he's actually a tree-hugging granola crunching Birkenstock wearing leftie with strong environmentalist concerns. He charted close to Al Gore and David Suzuki and thinks that Ghandi is too right-of centre.

He charted close to Al Gore and David Suzuki and thinks that Ghandi is too right-of centre. Actually, I did the test again here at work and scored more towards the centre of the grid. I'm still in the bottom-left quadrant but not as far. Judging where I am now I think I'm a little of everything, which isn't all that bad. I found the second time I went through it I preceived some of the questions differently. I think a test like this might be an indication that we could preceive things differently, not only in how we answer, but how we interpret the questions themselves. Cheers.

Interesting test, but I strongly disagree with the results. I consider myself Right, not left and libertatian, not authoritarian.
