End of game rant...
Komisarek: Played a tough game, had one bone crushing hit in that last period. Was never caught out of position and played a defensively sound game. His speed slower speed was obvious a few times during the game, but at that size you dont expect the player too be too fast. Komisarek needs to tap into that offensive talent, he could become a great two way NHL defenseman, he doesn't seem to trust his offensive instincts, he has a great slap shot but is afraid of using it.
Ward: After a great game 6, Ward seemed pretty invisible today. He showed great character and leadership in the openeing period, stopping Hainsey from getting a retaliation penalty. Not his fault Geoff Ward seems to think Hinz is a better fit on the PP then the AHL MVP
. Was hoping he would stir up his team at the start of the third, but became more and more invisible as the game went on. Hopefully next year in the NHL he will play more like in game 6, where his skating was good, great forcheking and grit, and a great shot.
Hainsey: Very impressed by his overall game tonight. He played a good defensive game, and showed lots of toughness in his game. His rush in the third period was incredible
, finally showing why he is a top defensive prospect . Lets hope he can gain more confidence and use those kind of gamebreaking moves once he reaches the NHL. His skating and puck control was superbe. Even though he had a slow start this game, I find he played well overall. Geoff Ward should have used him more on the PP, why is Haakana even on the PP
.
Ryder: Another dissapointing game. He couldn't score when it really counted. He doesn't seem to play very well when the game is televised, weird coincidence. He had a few nice checks, but gave the puck up too much for my liking. Saved a potential goal with his back checking early in the game, played a decent two way game. Wasn't impressed by his overall play in the last two games, don't see him making the team unless he has a great training camp next year.
Beauchemin: AWFUL game, thats pretty much all I could say about him. Left his man open on 2 of the goals tonight, was caught out of position quite a few times. He concentrates too much on his offense and not on his defense. Didn't play a very physical game, after such a good series, was hoping for more out of him, very dissapointing.
Hossa: This guy needs to play center, he seemed lost at LW today. Had some good rushes but never uses his shot. Someone needs to teel him to start using his amazing shot. With his size, skating and shot he should be a great player. Hes also a great playmaker from behind the net. Needs to be more consistant, which we have all been saying for awhile.
Plackanek: Didn't see much of him today. He showed lots of skill but not much of else.
