The level of hockey has gotten a lot better over the years and the experience of just living in Europe is a good one. The Lebeau brothers ended up staying in Europe for a while. Good way to look at it.I thought of it as their NHL dream dies but getting paid to play hockey in Europe is not a bad second option.
Ferland may be missed in Hamilton as he was a good leader for the young guys.

He got his cup of coffee with the Habs and got the taste of "the show" a few years back. He was just getting passed on the depth chart and opted for likely more money, shorter season and better lifestyle. Not a bad choice.
We got him 212th overall in 2002 and got seven NHL games in the process and lots of good years in Hamilton.
Adieu and have a blast.

We retain his rights for another 2 seasons as well, so we can still invite him to camp if he wants to attend
