My favourite comedian of all time passed away last night from heart failure at 71. I still remember what used to be the seven bad words no one could say on television, until the Sopranos came along. I won't repeat any of them here although some days I wish I could repeat them all. Rest in peace, George. You were one funny dude. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvgN5gCuLac

A good friend of mine bought it and his parents only knew he was a comedian. Actually, I'm wondering whether he talked them into buying it for him; we were only 14 or so. Here's the album cover And for those who want read the script here it is: The scriptThere are pioneers and then there's George Carlin. RIP and thank you.

I'm stunned. The stand-up world has lost its major influence. Fearless and articulate. As profound as he was ground-breaking. I can't think of one stand-up who didn't consider him the epitome of writing and performance. His body of work and longevity in the field speaks for itself.
A true master.
I had every one of his 70s albums memorized.
He had heart problems/surgeries for quite a while.....but it's too soon, George....too soon.

Easily among my all-time faves. It was a huge thrill and honor to have watched him perform live a few years ago (Casinorama, Orillia ON).
A legend is gone.
R.I.P. George.

Wasn't a big fan, but I'm surprised to learn that he was 71. I mean, I'd never seen him when he didn't have grey hair, but he carried the demeanour of a much younger man.

A friend of mine said the same thing, Red. He was doing really well and looked good for a guy his age. Just never know I guess. Cheers.

The world just lost a talent. Somewhere up there he is swearing to his hearts content and St. Peter is nervously trying not to laugh!

funniest man to ever walk a stage. My iPod is full of his live shows. My co-workers look at me funny as I laugh out loud every few minutes when one of his routines come on. His bit on Euphemisms might be my favourite.
