He heard ya, 3-yr deal Well if thats the case then......... note to Gainey.....we need a big talented #1 center asap ;D But it is great news..hopefully he gets his crash coarse in the AHL and works in some NHL games this season just like Max Pac and Weber. Benoit is a good steady AHL defensemen that we will need with the departure of the experience blueliners in Hamilton.

2009-10 will be a very unusual year for the Habs with only two prospects in the entire CHL, and none in the Dub for the second year in a row (that really sucks for us out west who also happen to live in a WHL community). Dumont (Drummondville) and Missiaen (Peterborough) will be the sum total of our CHL prospects as Subban, Fortier and Mayer should all be in either Hamilton or Cincy.
In today's CHL import draft, two of the three Euros taken in last weekend's draft by the Habs were selected. Niagara picked Simila (yes, the guy nobody had ever heard of and the dead last pick in the draft) and Patrick Roy and Quebec picked the big Russian winger Avtsin. Avtsin did say he wanted to come over in a year, so Gainey will now have some options for him as he can play in the Q or else go to Hamilton if he is ready.
