So we have some "long lost" friends over and we were suprised to find out that they got into dancing over the last few years. Pfffft....who cares! Then.......she asks me to find and downlaod an mp3 by the Gotan Project. Okay, I have to admit, I don't think much of dancing. Kind of liberal "gay" thing in my mind. : Then she get's up and dances the Tango. Him, who cares, her, just effen WOW! Not just any WOW! She was nothing special in the looks department but the dancing? Out of this world. Sexy, sultry as hell without the slutiness. So now the wife wants to drag a freaken SPARTAN to dance classes! I AM SPARTAN I tell her.....WE ARE WAR MACHINES I tell her......THIS IS SPAAARTAAAA I tell her....but.....but......but that damn Tango........WOW! : Is anybody here into ballroom dancing? Did it keep your interest? And most importantly, will learning to dance turn one into a mushy, "cried at the movies", quiche eating, NDP voting kind of guy? .

As uncomfortable as it may sound, the Spartans, and the ancient Greeks for that matter, thought dancing was created by the gods. Get into itOh, and chicks dig it too. OPAAAA!!!

Ballroom dancing is a requisite for liberal voting.. Not NDP. It never really held my interest. Did it for a year and a half with my former girlfriend, but after the first few weeks it turned into a "okay I'll do this for you, and you won't complain about me spending Sundays watching football." It's very difficult even for someone like me, whom I consider reasonably coordinated, and pesonally it's more fun to watch then perform.

Next thing you'll tell me is that you've bought a pair of Birkenstocks.
Frequenting the dance hall instead of CO's? What next? [shakes head]. It's a slippery slope, I tells ya.

I did it in university once (the wife wanted to do something together). Sadly, I have the coordination of a drunken cow, and the wife has the rhythm of a goat and so it did not work out terribly well.
Also, they do not teach you the tango right away. They taught us the rumba first, then the foxtrot, and then we quit to save ourselves from further embarrassment/broken bones

My wife talked me into lessons less than 6 months after we were married. The lessons were going so poorly for me that the instructor gave up - and my wife agreed. Anyway, that night, my wife stayed and I walked over to my parents' home to watch hockey. I was treated to Roy's unbelievable OT performance against the Rangers in the 86 playoffs. Pretty good trade.

You made this stuff up, right....the part about wanting to learn the tango and the rhumba and the foxtrot and....you made it up, right......right!?.....right!!! ? Yes, of course you did..... ...you most certainly did. Tanya Towers will be featured this weekend at the club...I expect to see you with a fistful of twenties. Don't disappoint me. Have a nice Monday.
