Have a game tomorrow night against Cape Brenton. The start their season in 3 weeks against Cape Brenton on the road. On the Rocket message boards, there's a rumor that Rimouski is offering Hab prospect Danny Stewart for goon Jimmy Bonneau. Not every day you see 2 Hab prospects traded for one another, but this one seems unlikely. Stewart is expected to be on Crosby's line, and could rack up the points for a 3rd line tough guy. But then again, Rimouski may want protection for young Crosby. Just thought I would pass it along on a slow news month.

just wondering but would our kids be playing in this pre-season game? I would assume so Marc. The Rocket are really counting on Urquhart, Lambert and Lapierre to be a solid core of their offence, so I expect those guys will get lots of ice time. I know from the few Bonneau things that I have seen that AV wants to give him more ice time and try him on the third line, so he may get some decent ice time in the preseason as well.

They recognized the impact that Crosby would have on the team, but it was so terrible last year that I just can't see them getting rid of one of the few natural offensive talents that they possess. But who knows, some of those Q trades are quite interesting!!

just wondering but would our kids be playing in this pre-season game? They should play. Vigneault is using 6 rookies tonight, but he did say he wanted to play more rookies tonight if Cape Brenton's coach would do the same. I'm just glad some hockey is being played. ;D

None of our boys were in on the scoring, but sounds like AV is playing a lot of his rookies to get a good look before he makes his final cuts. From the stuff I read on the Rocket's message boards, Urquhart, Lapierre and Soucy were heads and shoulders above the other players in the training camp, and there seems to be a huge Bonneau fan club amongst the old Montreal Rocket supporters. Bing Bang Bonneau!! I haven't seen much at all about Lambert on the Rocket board.

Marc, only 3 vets played for PEI, and none of them were our guys. Perhaps that will change tonight. The Q's website will have up to date stats throughout the game.

Only Bonneau played tonight for the Rocket, they are winning 4-3 in the 3rd. Bonneau with 1 assist and 7 pims.
For Rimouski Stewart didn't dress tonight or last night.
Rocket play again tomorrow, season starts on the 12th at Cape Brenton.
Edit: Bonneau's assist was on the PP, and Kastsitsyn's linemate from Team Belarus and '03 draft pick Zakarov had 2 goals in the game.

Rocket tied yesterday 4-4. All 4 prospects played for the first time, and got 3 of the 4 goals. Lambert, Urquhart, and Bing Bang Bonneau all had goals, with Urquhart adding an assist as well.

Good to see the boys make an impact in their first pre-season game. Bing Bang should get a copy of the team's scoring leaders, with his two points this may be his only chance to see himself near the top of anything other than penalty minutes ;D

I prefer Big Bang to Bing Bang. Maybe the Habs' physician, er, physicist can approve it.

Oh boy, Jimbo is really making a name for himself. If he can rack up a few more points he should make the 3rd line for the regular season. As for Urquhart, it might only be a couple of preseason games, but so far so good ;D, could be our best pick of the draft if Kastsitsyn doesn't work out.

I can see him breaking 100 pts and leading his team in scoring. A top 20 scorer this year, and maybe top 10 if he has the right wingers. From the sound of it, Lambert Urquhart Laliberte ('04 prospect, that's highly skilled from what I hear)

That's gonna be the line? There's a good chance that it will be the Rocket's first line. Lambert can play center, but they are deep at center, and Lambert/Uruqhart were paired together at times last year. Laliberte was the Rocket's 1st round pick, and they have high hopes for him. So I would think at some point Lambert Urquhart Laliberte will be the 1st line. Hopefully Lapierre takes over the 2nd line center, if not he'll start on the 3rd line. Bonneau hopefully makes the 3rd line.

At first I was a bit in shock that we didn't select O'Sullivan with our first second rounder in the draft, but now that that's worn off I've really grown to appreciate the choice of Urquhart (although it will still take some more time to open up to Lapierre). If this kid turns out the way Savard seems to think he will he could be a near perfect fit for us. Although I don't recall reading he's much for the rough stuff, you just can't go wrong with a big, talented, strong skating center with remarkable hands. I'll have my Ribeiro super sized with wheels please ;D

I've really grown to appreciate the choice of Urquhart (although it will still take some more time to open up to Lapierre). I was very happy that we got Lapierre and I had been hoping that he'd still be available when we pick. Maxim sounded the kind of player I'd like to see on our 3rd and 4th line in the future. So basically what I'm saying is that for me, it's the other way around. I'm not very high on Urquhart but I'm expecting Lapierre to get a spot from the Canadiens line-up in the near future. Of course I hope that Urquhart manages well too and possibly gets to play for the Habs and play in the NHL.
