PRESS RELEASE The Canadiens announced Friday that their 2003-04 rookie training camp will officially open on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when invited players will skate for the first time at College Brebeuf Arena in Montreal. The Canadiens’ main training camp will be held from Sept. 11 through Oct. 8. The 24 young prospects in attendance at the rookie camp will practice in Montreal from Sept. 3 through 5 before taking part in a rookie tournament at the Corel Centre, in Ottawa, from Sept. 6 through 10. The round-robin tournament will involve young prospects from the Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, and the Carolina Hurricanes. On Monday, Sept. 8, the Canadiens’ organization will play host to some 300 golfers for the club’s annual golf tournament at Laval-sur-le-Lac, starting at 10:30 a.m. The event will raise a substantial amount of money to benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.
