Oh, there's a big difference. Hitler wanted the entire Jewish population annihilated. How many were exterminated in the camps and elsewhere? How many were experimented upon? The Neo-Nazi Aryan Nationalists also believe that "white is right". Would you also have decorated the cake if they had wanted the "N"-word on there? There's a big difference between denying a cake decoration in a stand against those ideals and, "I won't decorate your cake because you voted Liberal." Hitler was the epitome of bigotry. How can denying this customer also be bigotry? I'm a pretty lenient, understanding guy, but I have ZERO tolerance for neo-Nazi-ism. -------------------------------------- The sooner the kids get the message that they're going to hit roadblocks in the mainstream, the better. I also think that the name Adolph Hitler has become synonymous with evil and hatred. It's all well and fine to exercise one's right to name their children any name they want, but to do it because no one will ever name their kids the same, doesn't wash with me whatsoever. I don't want to judge people from behind the security of my PC screen. However, whether parents choose to name their sons John, Sampson or Cletus, there is some deliberate thought given to it. Just as there's some deliberate thought to giving children the names Adolph Hitler or Aryan Nation. I really don't have much more to say on that. The only worse thing a parent could do is name his kid "Tie Domi" and give him a Maple Leafs crib blanket. |
