Noticeable in what I saw of tonight's game and in previous games, that when we have an opportunity to finish a check, after an opponent makes a pass, we pass on the chance. So easy to get in the guys way and he never takes a return pass on that rush. Also starts making them think before they make the pass, "Is it safe?".
Sigh. Such a simple game sometimes.

You want to hear something crazy? I've seen rumours that Jack Johnson is available out of LA. Apparently they're expecting him to sign an RFA sheet, and would move him for the right price. It doesn't help he's injured for pretty much the whole season right now, but something to consider for sure. They would be crazy to let him go...but I would take him in a hearbeat. He is not fun to play against (when is playing that is). Is this the same guy Carolina traded because they couldn't sign him?

We have lots of "D" men. Lots of depth in "B" men too. Time to get an "A" man. Trading some of our excess depth for a shot at Tavares couldn't hurt. Kovalev is "A" man talent with "B" production and a career of "C" man consistency. Price, Komisarek and Kostitsyn are out highest picks and it shows.

Don't worry, we have the crunchig defenseman to make that up......*sigh* I said it befoire and I will say it again, we are an easy team to play against. Just one lousy hard check PER player and all of a sudden, we are a much tougher team.

Carolina let him go because Johnson wanted to complete his NCAA eligibility before going pro. It sounded like the Canes burned the bridges and, fresh off their Stanley Cup victory, traded Johnson for some immediate help in the hopes of repeating. They missed the playoffs. I have to say, that as far as Rutherford's moves, that's definitely the worst. He's a pretty good GM in my eyes, but that was terrible.

I'd expect a deal for a solid guy thats not going to cost us much,Preissing I think would be a good choice.Jay Bo would cost way too much and unless you sign him or did for that matter where does tha leave Komi.A solid mid $$ guy makes more sense after signing Komi we'll be in the same boat as the Sens but with all the $$ on the backend. Even though Jack Johnson is injured, he would be a wonderful choice. He has so much upside, and I really think he would cost a lot less than the other options being chucked around on all these rumour sites. A decent roster player and a draft pick likely would get this deal done. If he is ready to come back around the trade deadline, then I would be thumbing the blackberry with them big time.
Young, big, nasty, decent offensive hockey sense.

I'm leaning toward Kubina as an option, myself. He could likely be had for a 1st pick and a prospect. I like Johnson too, but fear the price.

Young, big, nasty, decent offensive hockey sense. Jus mention the word "big and nasty" and I'm all for it. We need to stop those run around Sue's in the back of our net. We have too many 6 foot 200 pound defenseman who can't stop the bigger boys.
