Don't know much about this guy. Heard McGuire talking him up a month ago during a Thrashers game.
Can't have too many reliable D men.

The Devils are a good defensive team, but they are not especially talented on defense. The system and effort saves them. I always believe Sutter coached teams fail in the playoffs because they can't ratchet up the effort another level as can all the other teams that didn't go 100% during the regular season.

Havelid's a no nonsense type of player. He was +4 on the Thrashers. He'll fit in well. What the Devil's don't have is strong puck movers on the back end. Martin is their best offensive defender.

An underrated dependable cheap pick up by Smiling Lou. Probably help out more than most believe.

Advantage Devils on this deal...in a big way. They addressed a need and did not give up much for a nice upgrade. Darn.
