Saw on Spectors site that RDS says Mathieu Carle has asked for a trade. If I recall correctly, this guy played OK when he was called up and played with Komi a couple of years back. IIRC, wasn't he was sent back when breezy was brought in? www.rds.ca/bulldogs/chroniques/270424.htmlGoogle translation below ;D: Mathieu Carle asked the Montreal Canadiens to trade.
The defender who moves with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the LAH hopes move to another team within 15 hours Wednesday.
With 46 parties this season, he scored six goals and 16 assists6 goals and 16 assists, why didn't they call him up?

An oft-injured, smallish, somewhat offensive d-man, who can't seem to survive his initial NHL games demands a trade? To quote that idiot Yankees announcer "SEEEEE YAAA!"

With 46 parties this season, he scored six goals and 16 assists6 goals and 16 assists, why didn't they call him up? Two straight seasons where he looked good and then got injured in training camp. If this claim is even true, then he realizes that both Weber and Subban likely have good chances of making it with the big club. A club only needs so many offensive RDs. No idea why a mid-range prospect who has proven a grand sum of nothing feels it is in his best interest to request a trade so early in his career. He is only 21 and currently injured anyway, so not sure that he has any bargaining chips even if this report is true. He should stay healthy and prove himself first. He is starting to wrack up concussions which is not good for such a young player.

He's not worth much. Especially after having asked for a trade.

I await the sheepish report in the media tomorrow that he never said anything and this was fabricated.
If I don't hear that, then I will continue to shake my head that a 21 year old in his second year of his three-year entry level contract would request a trade.

dealing him sends a bad message imo. how about work hard kid and make the team next training camp, if not we'll look at dealing you, but not now.

I'd gently remind him of exactly who calls the shots.

Haven't seen anything more about this yet. The whole idea of it is still laughable. What leverage does he have to suggest, request or demand a trade? None. He's proven nothing except that he's injury prone, and frankly if it suits the Habs organization best for him to sit in the AHL until his contract is up, that's what will happen.
Is this guy afraid of the competition? He's so insecure about his ability that he can't beat out Subban, Yemelin, Korneev or Weber? If so I don't want him on the team, anyway. Competition brings out the best in players, nobody should get a spot on the club without beating someone else for the job.

Julien BriseBois was on the broadcast in the first intermission today saying this hole thing is bogus and never heard anything from Carle or his agent.

See the thing is about this particular rumour is that nobody makes up a rumour about a middling prospect in the AHL who can't stay healthy.
Maybe it's so little as Carle not getting along with Lever, and someone overheard a discussion about working it out, but Carle's a nobody to be making stuff up about. The Montreal media has higher sights than that, and few ethical boundaries for me NOT to believe there's some truth to this story.

I disagree........ I'm firm believer in not believing everything I read and til I hear the words coming from Carle , his agent, or a representative of the Montreal organization then I'm going to assume it's the media trying to cause drama for no other reason but sell their product.

So you don't believe anything until it's politically useful to have known? Do you believe Dandenault asked Gainey to help out his situation?
I don't even necessarily think it was that Carle asked for a trade, but I do believe that there's something going on.

I not going to believe something that the team or the player never confirmed and denied by the player himself. If your interested in spectulating on this issue then so be it.
