The Hamilton Bulldogs reduced their training camp roster by eight players on Monday. The Bulldogs released goaltender Michel Bergevin-Robinson, defenceman Steeve Villeneuve and forwards Kenny Corupe, Andrew Ianiero, Eric Laplante, Matt Passfield and Mike Varhaug. The Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned defenceman Jeremy Van Hoof from Hamilton to the Pensacola Ice Pilots (ECHL). From Dogs site www.canoe.ca/Bulldogs/News/2003/10/07/219672.html

I know you can't tell much by looking at stats but it seems that Bergevin-Robinson outplayed Michaud during the pre-season. Did contractual obligations keep Michaud in Hamilton ahead of B-R or did Michaud really outplay him? You can call me skeptical but I think Michaud has seen all of the ice time he will ever see with the Habs. In the meantime, the baby Habs seem to be playing well and will only benefit from Plekanec joining the team (and maybe Higgins when Koivu returns). It should be an exciting team.

One of Komo or Hainsey won't hurt either.
