Three goals tonight in a 6-3 PEI win. He scored two power play markers, and one shorthanded effort on a setup from Urqy, who registered no other points in the game. Lapierre was held pointless once again.
Lambert has vaulted into third place in the QMJHL scoring race with 10 goals and 15 assists in 12 games. In fact, he's the only player in the Q averaging more than 2 points per game at this juncture.
It wasn't much more than a week ago that Lambert was battling to be in the top ten in scoring, now he's leading the league in points per game.
I think it's safe to say that he will be the QMJHL's Player of the Week - 4 goals and 5 assists is not too shabby in three games.
Let's hope Gainey stocks up on third and fourth round picks. Savard seems to have a knack with picks in those rounds - Lambert, Stewart, Locke, O'Byrne, Jarventie, Plekanec...pretty good value.

The problem with Lambert isn't scoring goals, he was 5th on the team in scoring last year. But he is a player that won't pay the price to get his nose dirty and he doesn't work hard in his own end. Last year he was telling everyone on the team how good he was and that the Habs were going to sign him, yet he was benched at times for his lack of effort. I hope under Vigneault and the fact that he needs a contract this summer or he reenters the draft, gets Lambert to show a LOT more heart. Goals are great, but he needs to work on other areas of his game.

If he turns 25 and still has unfulfilled promise like Brian Savage or lacks desire like Rucinsky or slows down like Traverse we should worry. He's big and he's improving rapidly. I'm happy! I think he'll learn and he has good teachers.

Many things in hockey can be learned or improved upon by determination and hard work. Goal scoring and playmaking aren't two of them. If you can't score at the junior level, it's a dead cinch you won't in the pros.

He should be scoring. He is a 19 year old playing against younger competition.

His coach didn't give him a break when he benched him last year for lack of effort. The word is that he had a very bad attitude last year and didn't work hard at all. He was hated by fans on a nightly basis. Perhaps the fact that he needs a contract has woken him up. I've listened to a few games on the radio, and to me he doesn't sound all that improved. Playing with Urquhart hels, as Cory does a lot of the work. Lambert was taking shots from poor angles instead of passing or taking it in deep himself. With Vigneault as his coach, I won't give up on him, as he stands a good chance to get signed. The skills are there thats for sure, but he needs to show a lot of heart.

Lambert named QMJHL offensive player of the week. He had 4 goals and 5 assists in 3 games, with 18 shots and a +6. Great numbers, hopefully he can keep it up. He's one of the top +/- guys on his team which is a total shock. I followed him last year, and I don't think that this is the same Lambert. Maybe aliens are involved, I may have to call the X-Files to see if they can uncover the Truth.

He deserves a break because he is producing much better than last year. He is improving, obviously working harder. Sometimes an 18 year old needs some adversity to realize that he needs to work hard and improve. Now he's a 19 year old playing better. Next year he will be a 20 year old with a clock ticking......

I have two teenage boys and they change five times a day. (socks and underware not included) Nice kid. Unbelieveably stupid. Does homework. Bad report card. Mows the lawn without being asked. Fights with Mother to stay out too late. Bob Gainey, come help me with these two. LOL Give Lambert some space and time. He's coming around nicely. Good size, skills and capable of playing physical one day. It's not like we can't use a power forward.

I dont know too much about Lambert, does he play physical at all? Not really. At times he will take the body, but not often. The radio broadcast has been shut down due to technical problems. So I doubt tonights game will be on the radio.

Two more points for Lambert in a 3-2 loss to Moncton tonight, including a goal. Urqy added two assists. Lambert now has 27 points in 13 games. Not too shabby. Lambert is alone in third place in scoring, while Urqy moves up to a tie with Stewart for fifth overall with 24 points. Keep it up fellas.
