Devils and Rangers interested in Komi, eh?
I know it's just eklund....but this is no doubt going to get interesting.
Major overhaul indeed.
Personally, I think we need one. Watching these playoffs, it is painfully obvious what we lack...and most of it is cojones.

I thought Eklund was banned from the board.

Haven't looked at his site since the trade deadline. I just can't believe Markov is going anywhere. I believed that even before the late season and PO meltdown when he was out of the lineup. And after Gainey publicly trashed Lawton, how do they get together for a trade? Lamoriello interested in Komisarek after the season he just had? LL is smarter than that I thought.

Okay we need Markov AND Bouwmeester. Not Markov FOR Bouwmeester, regardless of whether Lecavalier is here.

I thought Eklund was banned from the board. So long as we keep it in one thread, I don't mind. He's no worse than Garrioch, who's also gotten approximately zero things correct.

Not to sound like a pessimist but can anyone, wearing even their rosiest colour glasses, conceive of one reason why Bouwmeester would have interest in playing for Montreal? Money aside, I can't imagine that the Habs are even in his top 20.

Bouwmeester will be the most coveted UFA this summer and we do not have much sales argument nor the guy to sell it anyway.

Am I the only one that has zero interest in Jay? He just doesn't blow my skirt up. I don't think he has it between the ears, and when the team took a huge gamble by keeping him in an attempt to make the playoffs he went into hiding on the ice.
I think Lecavalier, or something VERY similar is a must. Look at what Carolina is doing. They have their big center in Staal, and have a chance to go up 3-1 in games. Eric is getting his nose dirty, getting hit, hitting, and no doubt getting some nice bruises for his efforts. They're being rewarded. We don't have that, and need it.

I agree we need a big centre. I'm leery of Lecavalier due to his huge contract, no trade clause and recent injuries to his shoulder and wrist. I keep thinking how the team got burned when they traded Chelios for Savard and I can see TB insisting on Markov.
I'm beginning to wonder if some of the assets that many have proposed to acquire VL services might be better used to move up in the top 5 of this year's draft instead. It's not a sure thing that Tavares goes first overall. He could end up in third.

I'm not terribly interested, but I'm not terribly interested in Lecavalier either. Frankly given a choice between the two I'd rather overpay for JayBo than Lecavalier. Vinny just looks brittle to me. Maybe that's a side effect of playing in Tampa for the last 2 seasons, but I'm not all that interested in paying much of anything on top of paying him $100M or whatever. Either or, not both.
