Komisarek got two back to back penalties and a game misconduct in the first period. Higgins is dangerous shorthanded, they had to bring him down from behind to stop his breakaway. Traverse playing the PP

Perezhogin is playing very well, but he just cant find the back of the net, no matter how many times he tries. His line of Kilger - Svitov - Perezhogin is doing very well.

Zhoges is everywhere. Get that first goal Sacha. Him and Kilger are dominating the game, but they cant find the back of the net! Its great to see Perezhogin playing with great confidence, playing "all over the ice" and "checking" according to the announcers.

Great result for the future Habbies. Nice to see them with a good come-from-behind win. Those show some character. Congrats to both Higgs and Perezhogin on their first pro goals (in North America in Sasha's case).

Some interesting points from the box score. Komi got a penalty and then 14 seconds later got an unsportsmanlike penalty and a misconduct. Must have said something from the penalty box. Perezhogin got a charging penalty in the 2nd. I like that. He was obviously driving at someone to hit them in ill humour. Nice win by the boys...coming back from a 2 goal deficit.

Great come back win against the top seeded team (up to now) in their division.
I listened to the third period on the radio feed and the announcer went crazy about Perezhogin goal. Looked like a beauty.
I guess Perezhogin is gonna get more at ease with the new culture, language, country, rink size and system as the season go on. I'm not worried at all about him. I hope Svitov and Kilger help him out develop some confidence for the remainder of the season. He has the advantage of playing with 2 guys who played in the NHL. I hope he makes the most out of it.

Well, Kilger will be back with the Habs next week otherwise he would have to clear waivers to stay in the AHL. Someone would claim since now he's not overpaid (well under the league average). If Perezhogin is already "dominating" AHL games than it is not out of reach to think he could skate in the NHL this year... but those announcers can get carried away. I'm waiting for the HA scouting reports and the next interview by Jarvis.

From the game report (Rochester newspaper):
"Perezhogin then displayed why the Montreal Canadiens drafted him 25th overall in 2001. He zoomed out of the left corner, leaving Cullen in his wake, then used traffic in front of goalie Tom Askey to hide his 30-foot backhander from the middle of the slot.
“He’s had flashes of what you saw tonight and flashes of games where you maybe wouldn’t see him,” said Hamilton coach Doug Jarvis. “Like any kid, he’s been a bit of a yo-yo.”
As nice as the goal was, Cullen took blame.
“He beat me out of the corner and I should be able to contain him better than that,” Cullen said.

I'm not sure, but I think Svitov and Perez already know each other because they both played for Omsk Avangard back in motherland.
If it's the case, then the presence of a fellow Russian, someone who already has some experience in North America, may help Perez develop his game.

Well I was at the game, and I'll have a full report later, but some quick notes. Perezhogin's goal was a wicked backhander. He did a big circle around the net, and let it go, the goalie didn't know what to do. Komo took a dumb penalty, they scored, on his way to the bench he said something to the ref, got a misconduct, and Jarvis or Wilson benched him until the 3rd. He wasn't playing great until being benched, after that he played better and got a huge goal from a point shot. It turned the game around. Fichaud wasn't very good, and the vets sucked. Traverse is a joke, even in the AHL, and Dykhuis isn't much better. I'll post a game report later.
