Another dominating performance by Georges St. Pierre. However, he really hurt himself in this one. He said he pulled a groing muscle when he was on the mat (first time in three years anyone has seen him on the bottom, back to the canvass). George said later that when he told his trainer, the trainer said, "I don't care ... take it out and hit him with it."
Too bad the main event was such a fiasco. Someone should tell Brock Lesnar that there's a big difference between WWE and UFC. The guy totally dominated Frank Mir (one of the worst bully-beatings I've seen so far), but his post-fight performance was akin to a show he'd do in the WWE where everything is staged. He was apologetic and all but still ... guess Dana White chewed him out before his post-fight PC.
If he's not sure what class is all about maybe he should talk with Georges. Heck, even Thiago Alves, who lost to Georges in the second-last bout of the night, has more class in his pinky.
Georges has now run out of opponents. They've been talking about a catch-weight match between him and current middleweight champ, Anderson Silva. That means moving up a classification, but if the UFC gives the green light then it's a go. Still, that groin injury was pretty bad according to Georges.
Anyone who missed it can get it on some of the UFC live streams out there.
Cheers.

Poor Georges, I think he tore his groin, not that you could tell. Amazing perfromance by an amazing athlete. They raved about his wrestling skills all night (he's trained with our Olympic team). Awesome to see him take down his opponent at will.
Not sure what's next for him. His is one of the strongest divisions in the UFC. Lucky for the UFC that he's injured and they'll have time to get him another decent opponent (I don't think Silva is in the cards, St Pierre would have to gain too much bulk).
Henderson taking off Bisping's head was nice to see as well. Maybe that'll shut him up for awhile.
Lesnar is a tool. I'm really hoping Fedor will get signed and teach him some manners.

Poor Georges, I think he tore his groin, not that you could tell. Amazing perfromance by an amazing athlete. They raved about his wrestling skills all night (he's trained with our Olympic team). Awesome to see him take down his opponent at will. I heard the announcer say that it was the first time in three years he was actually on his back. He was using a 'butterfly' defence with his legs and I think that there could have been where he snapped something. Keith Jardine said that he feels Georges to be a strong as some light heavyweights in the sport. But, I see what you mean, though. When he went up against BJ Penn, Georges weighted in at 170 lbs, but went into the ring the following night at approximately 185-ish. He explained how a lot the fighters do just that; cut down on the sodium and carbs, as well as water displacement. I'm wondering if this had something to do with Alves losing though. I mean, he had to lose a lot of weight (according to Dana White) in order to make the weigh in. Could that have had an effect on his performance? Yeah, it would be nice to hear him stop talking about the Americans for five minutes. Right from the beginning I though Lesnar was thinking WWE. His press conference was cheezy. Then he had his wife with him as he walked towards the ring. I think she used to be known as Sable, a WWE diva. After the fight I guess he was giving the public what he felt they wanted to see, only he really, really misjudged where he was. It's not an act and it's not scripted. It's for real and his actions really gave himself a black eye. I was thinking how he might do against Lyoto Machida. Machida has that wide karate stance that is very hard to fight against. However, he's also another class act who understands what the UFC is all about. Like Georges St Pierre, he has humility. He's in it for all the right reasons. Lesnar better learn that ... Cheers.
