Found yet another top 100 prospect list, this time its German. www.hockeyinsider.de/14. Komisarek - All-Star 18. Andrei Kastsitsyn - All Star 43. Ron Hainsey - Top 4 52. Chris Higgins - Top 6 58. Alexander Perezhogin - Top 6 It's different cause it has categories for each prospect, from Superstar, top 6 or top 4. Kastsitsyn is also ranked the 4th best "Russian" prospect. |

I've been following our prospects, but there are some guys who are not on our list who are interesting opportunities. We had lots of prospects, but Gainey saw something in Begin and Langdon that he liked. Sometinng we needed and didn't have in our pipeline. We need speed and SIZE! (appologies to all who said size isn't important) Nikita Alexeev is a Tampa Bay prospect who has fallen into disfavor. He is 6'5" and faster than Balej. He needs to be motivated and has played 7 games for Hershey with only 1 assist. A change would be good for him. He may never be the offensive star that TB wanted when they drafted him in the first round (8th if memory serves me). He is big and fast (a bigger faster Kilger) with cement hands. He reminds me a little of a kid named Gainey (less the desire). Nikita is a prospect worth taking a chance on while his value is at a low and potential is still there. What do you think Bob?  Another is Hudler. (apologies to all who have heard this before) He has a huge upside although he lacks size. He is watching Detroit games from the press box and if they don't need him, we could use his skills now. We have Koivu, Ribeiro and Locke small and talented centers, but Hudler is really special. Part of the problem with potential is you never know who will realize it. Ribs, Corey and Jiri would give us three chances for an Yzerman type center. If I had to bet, Locke has the highest superstar potential and drive, Ribs is the safest bet, and Jiri has the most talent. I like them all. I'd trade Pleks or Perez for Hudler (Linhart if Detroit wants him). ;D A line of Alexeev, Balej and Hudler would have size, speed, and two way value. |
