Saw this on HF about some twitter stuff.
Grier would be interesting especially if BGL is really hurt and goes on LTIR. Someone there posted the following that made me laugh
Great! put him on a line with Yappy Lappy and Travis.
The Yap, Gripe and Moen line.
Would drive the opposition nuts!

I would have said yes to Grier a few years ago and even today if we did not have a sufficiently large and capable group of forwards for the bottom two lines. I would not want to see a guy like Grier brought in at the expense of someone who deserves a shot with the big club, like Chipchura. Kyle now needs to clear waivers if he is sent down and likely will get scooped by some team. Let's see what he can do this year and decide afterwards whether his future is with the Habs or somewhere else. Those Mike Grier type of replacements will always be around each summer during UFA time.

No thanks. Grier is a shell of his former self. Still effective, but we have Moen who's a better player and more willing enforcer. Not to say that Grier can't beat out, say, Stewart for a spot, but the difference isn't worth paying extra for it.
Grier looked old last season, and he'll look old this season. We do need another penalty killer, but it ain't Mike Grier.
