Simply put, one of the best science fiction movies in a very, very long time.
This is not your normal alien movie. This is not a bang-bang movie although there is plenty of bang bang. This movie has an ugly message, it will annoy you with endless stereotypes. It will make you think. It allows you to dismiss it, or scratch your head.
Four thumbs WAY up

Thanks for the recommend. I was going to see a movie tomorrow, maybe I'll see District 9.

Enjoyed this one a lot. the fact that it has actors in it we don't recognize really helped for me. Great story!

Well, might have to appeal to the "Trekky" side of Mrs Dis. We're both into Si-Fi; she more than me though.
Cheers.

Went last night....and my wife couldn't make it through the first half-hour. She gets motion-sickness (or something to that effect) from watching hand-held jerky camera work.
So, I'll have to watch it another time. Looked interesting to say the least.

should have warned you about that. I'm so happy that kind of thing doesn't bother me.

Good information, CH. Mrs Dis suffers from the same thing.
Cheers.

Good to know about the motion-sickness. I can't play first-person POV vid games, as I get quite ill. Can't even play Kung-Fu Panda, that's how bad it is...
I could probably watch the movie on DVD in 15 minute stretches, so I won't remove it from my "to view list", will just need to wait longer than most folks, ha!

So, I'll have to watch it another time. Looked interesting to say the least. My son went to the late show last night & as they were walking out at midnight he passed a guy that was sleeping. He was sleeping so deeply that it took 2-3 nudges to wake him up. I guess that's one way to beat the motion sickness.

I wasn't going to watch the movie while she sat there with her eyes closed. Good thing it was half-price night!

Saw it tonight. It was quite good. An interesting take on an Outer Limits episode I saw yesteryear. I can't use the word unique, but it was an unusual kind of science fiction movie.
