We'll never catch them at this rate! I find it really difficult to cheer for that team. They just lure/sign the best from around the league with their seemingly unlimited $$. Last off-season alone....Burnett, Sabathia, and Teixeira. It's like a perennial all-star team. Great starters, bullpen, and the ultimate closer. Fantastic hitters throughout the lineup. I know they haven't won since 2000....but they're always contenders.

I always cheer for which ever team can end the baseball season. It was the Yanks once they won 3 games. Now (well.. in a couple days) my sports pages aren't cluttered up with news about it. Now I only have to deal with the deluge of basketball, but that's usually minor until Christmas or so.
The economics of baseball are totally out of whack when one team's salary can be more than 8 times the salary of another. But the Yankees now aren't all that different from the NHL in the 80s and 90s, and it's the same way the Blue Jays got their 2 titles.
Baseball is just a sport I stopped following after the strike and can't really get back into it because of how disparate the league is.

Yeah, I'm not what you'd call a baseball fan at all. The steroid issue really sealed it for me.
Then again, perhaps that should seal it for me in respect to all $port$.

until they get a cap, the league is a farce really. And it ticks me off as I love baseball.

The Yankees still have a ways to go to catch up to the Glasgow Rangers' 51 national titles (101 total titles) or Real Madrid with 31 La Liga titles.
