Comments from last night's radio broadcast.
The announcers absolutely raved about Higgins abilities after the OT win last night. They thought he is clearly the best player on the team.
Perezhogin has shown flashes of brilliance and has exhibited amazing moves while skating at full speed. They believe he is improving with each outing as he gets used to the pros.
Gratton is the heart and soul of the team. Great work ethic, great penalty killer, great on faceoffs, great in th dressing room. Very aggressive and sometimes takes needless penalties... but at least you don't have to try to light a fire under him.
Andrew Archer was interviewed between periods. He had hernia surgery and is slowly working himself back into the lineup as his strength and stamina improves. Very well spoken, seems to have his head screwed on straight. Sees himself as a defensive defensemen and doesn't expect to score many goals in his career.
Just caught bits and pieces... there were probably comments on others but I was only able to listen to part of the game (as I was watching the Habs)

Bégin never played more than 50 NHL games in one season. He's still doing his job correctly but I didn't see the same energy from him in the past 2 weeks. I think Gratton deserves a shot as a fourth line C in Montreal. As for Higgins, besause his defensive game is already good, it's a matter of weeks imo before he lands a job in Montreal. LA and Chicago are looking for immediate help... See ya Yannick.

Here are the details:
1st Period:
(no scoring)
2nd Period:
HAM - Jozef Balej-7 (Tomas Plekanec, Ron Hainsey) - 1:40
HAM - Marcel Hossa-1 (Tomas Plekanec, Duncan Milroy) - 12:47
3rd Period:
ROC - Jason Pominville-10 (unassisted) - 12:24
HAM - Francois Beauchemin-2 (Eric Fichaud) - 19:14 (en)
Shots:
Hamilton: 15-16-6--37
Rochester: 8-7-12--27
Goaltending:
Hamilton: Fichaud (27 shots, 26 saves)
Rochester: Miller (36 shots, 34 saves)
Power play:
Hamilton: 0 for 2
Rochester: 0 for 4
Three Stars:
1. HAM - Tomas Plekanec
2. HAM - Eric Fichaud
3. ROC - Ryan Miller
Attendance: 3227
The Dogs appear to have some pretty balanced scoring; when one scoring line doesn't produce the other picks up the slack. Milroy picked up his first pro point in the win. Hamilton is now 14-8-1-1, and set a record with their eight-consecutive home victory.
