Just watching the Saints pretty much being given their 12th win. In OT, Sellers was callled "down by contact" on the field....overturned by replay even though it clearly showed the forearm down before the ball came loose. Certainly not enough video evidence to overturn the call. Zorn didn't show much emotion.
Washington played a darn good game (missed late field goal aside). I guess a 12-0 record is more important than having a non-playoff team salvage some dignity.

bad call, but if the Skins hit the chip shot field goal, we're not even having this discussion.

The replay I saw looked like it showed the ball loose before hit the ground. BTW, I hate these time outs before field goal tries. Does "freezing" the kicker ever work.

I remember one of the announcers saying that opposing coaches will try anything to shake up a kicker, even calling a last-minute time-out. I honestly can't remember if it actually worked or not. Maybe it has, but I don't know. The Packers are cleaning up on the Monday Night game I see. Wish I had the energy to watch the rest ... pretty tired from shoveling snow and slush. Cheers.

The Packers have to be the worst team in the NFL with a winning record. They find ways to keep games close when they shouldn't be. Green Bay ought to have won this game about 35-7 but a series of brutal giveaways and a missed 38 yarder kept it close. The BAL bailed them out by giving the ball up themselves, but I have no love lost for the Pack when they play like this.
Also, it's worth noting that the officiating was horrible tonight. Green Bay got the benefit of several BS pass interference calls (BAL also got one) and the officiating had a huge influence on the game's outcome in the end. I can only hope this officiating crew gets taken through the ringer by Perreira and they'd better not see the postseason.
As a Redskins fan, it's same old same old in that Saints game. The less they win, the more likely Cerrato gets fired. That's the season goal I'm hoping for.

I am not talking about any sport where a bunch of man wearing skin tight pants pile on top of each other.

I can only hope this officiating crew gets taken through the ringer by Perreira and they'd better not see the postseason. Couldn't tell you one way or the other because I didn't see most of the game. I also find that the NHL isn't the only sports league to suffer from inconsistent officiating. I've seen the Packers boned on officiating in the past. Nothing surprises me here. Yet, when the Packers do play well, they look very, very good. Right at the beginning of the year their defence was at least giving them chances to win games. They did well in their first meeting with Minnesota when they shut down Adrian Peterson's running game, and for the most part, they're still doing a good job. However, it's that front line that causes me to shake my head. I don't know if it's inexperience or inconsistentcy or a combination of both. But, some nights they simply don't compete ... like against Minnesota ... it's like the Farve is in their heads. One thing that irked me earlier this year ... they brought back Aman Green. All of a sudden I remembered the long runs, hitting the holes fast ... and the fumbles. But, given all that I still like the way the team is developing. And they are still developing IMO. They have games left against Chicago (who plays them very well), Pittsburgh (I don't even have my fingers crossed for this one), Seattle (well, at least Holgram is not there any more), and Arizona. Honestly, I can't see them making the post season with 9-7. I have a buddy who has season's tickets (he lives in Red Deer AB). He went down there to see a game recently and got a field pass. The Skins lost the game but he said the whole experience was incredible. At 3-9 he's pretty bitter. In fact, with very few glimmers here and there, he's been bitter for a few seasons now. One thing about Washington that caused me to scratch my head, was when I read a that the Redskins bring in more revenue than any other NFL team. They brought in $327,000,000, followed by the New England Patriots at $282,000,000. It's not like we can't relate. NFL fans remind me of hockey fans who continue to flock in droves to the rinks regardless of what product is on the ice, or in this case, the field. Cheers.
