Six points in his last two games... 2 goals and 2 assists today against Cleveland. Are the Dogs on TV tomorrow against Toronto. It would be good to see some of these guys.

I remember seeing Balej in pre-season games two years ago and being impressed with certain aspects of his game. Mainly, these were his skill at finding open spots to fire from, and his ability to handle the puck at speed and in traffic. When I saw him recently in St. John's I was glad to see him taking a turn on the PK and doing some decent work on the boards, including laying a couple of bodychecks on Leaf defencemen. I think his injury problems last year and his absences from the lineup were interpreted (from a distance) as "stalled prospect with offensive skills". I'm glad (but not surprised) to see him coming along. It would be a huge lift to this team if we got two offensive threats out of Balej, Perezhogin and Katsitsyn. One would be okay, none would be a disaster, and three out of three would be unheard of good fortune.

Two more goals tonight for a total of 13 in 29 games. He was written off by a lot of people after last year and it's nice to see him having some success.

The boxscore on the Dogs site has the goals listed as his 12th and 13th....USA Today may be slightly ahead of their time!! Nice to see Andrew Archer get his first professional point last night with an assist. How about Gratton, he keeps notching those points. www.canoe.ca/Bulldogs/News/2003/12/14/287359.html
